Every result in WNBA feeds a streak somewhere, and a few of them have now grown big enough to deserve names. Everything below comes straight off the results; nothing fancier than counting.
As of this morning, six different teams are riding runs of three or more in one direction or the other, a busy board by any standard.
The teams stacking wins
Dallas Wings just keep stacking, four wins in a row, the best active streak going. At some point a run stops being a coincidence and starts being a statement, and they are somewhere past that point.
Golden State Valkyries are building a case of their own at 4 straight.
And Las Vegas Aces make it a crowd with 3 consecutive wins.
Stuck in the barrel
On the other side of the ledger, Toronto Tempo have dropped four straight. Losing streaks carry their own gravity, the pressing starts, the bounces stop cooperating, and close games keep finding the same ending.
It is not much prettier for Chicago Sky, losers of 3 straight.
Connecticut Sun have lost 3 straight themselves, in case anyone at the cold end needed company.
