NCAAF Streak Watch
Streak Watch: Towson Have Lost 5 Straight (College Football)
Published
Every result in College Football feeds a streak somewhere, and a few of them have now grown big enough to deserve names. Everything below comes straight off the results; nothing fancier than counting.
As of this morning, 90 different teams are riding runs of three or more in one direction or the other, a busy board by any standard.
Riding high
Lehigh have won five straight, the longest active run in the league. Winning streaks change how a club carries itself, every bounce feels earned, every close game feels like it belongs to them until somebody proves otherwise.
Behind them, Montana State have quietly won 5 in a row.
Idaho State join the party at 4 straight.
Stuck in the barrel
On the other side of the ledger, Towson have dropped five straight. Losing streaks carry their own gravity, the pressing starts, the bounces stop cooperating, and close games keep finding the same ending.
It is not much prettier for VMI, losers of 5 straight.
Long Island University round out the skid list at 5 in a row.
By the numbers
For the record, here is everything currently running at three-plus:
| Team | Active streak |
|---|---|
| Towson | lost 5 straight |
| Lehigh | won 5 straight |
| VMI | lost 5 straight |
| Montana State | won 5 straight |
| Long Island University | lost 5 straight |
The fine print
A 5-game run is long enough that it stops being a footnote and starts being the lead, expect it to come up in every broadcast until it ends.
A streak is history with good posture: impressive to look at, honest about the past, silent about tonight. Markets know this, which is why streaking teams get funny prices.
