Every result in WNBA feeds a streak somewhere, and a few of them have now grown big enough to deserve names. Everything below comes straight off the results; nothing fancier than counting.
As of this morning, seven different teams are riding runs of three or more in one direction or the other, a busy board by any standard.
Riding high
Minnesota Lynx just keep stacking, twelve wins in a row, the best active streak going. At some point a run stops being a coincidence and starts being a statement, and they are somewhere past that point.
Indiana Fever carry a 7-game winning run of their own.
And Atlanta Dream make it a crowd with 6 consecutive wins.
Stuck in the barrel
On the other side of the ledger, Los Angeles Sparks have dropped eight straight. Losing streaks carry their own gravity, the pressing starts, the bounces stop cooperating, and close games keep finding the same ending.
It is not much prettier for Toronto Tempo, losers of 7 straight.
Connecticut Sun have lost 4 straight themselves, in case anyone at the cold end needed company.
